After many years in the Italian Public Research System, where I have worked in physics, engineering and medical research, and a brief period in Industry, where I have headed the R&D Department of a microscope manufacturer, I am now back to academic research, in Scotland. I work in a research group that develops instruments and devices based on very special plastics, that conduct electricity, emit light, and that can be used to manipulate light and electricity in a number of new exciting ways.
